The Life of a Surveyor, Apparently

I don't understand why we're here. They aren't allowing us access to the surface, but we aren't exactly told why either. Looks like there's nothing better to do than collect information.

There's enough basic information in the tablets we were provided to get a general idea: a basic explanation of what the VSA is, for if you've lived in a black hole; a rundown of what exactly the job of a surveyor is; and an insight into how the VSA is structured internally. Given they've provided us with this information and the seeming lack of staff, I expect they're watching us to govern who is and who isn't fit for more permanent employment here. There's definitely something they're refusing to tell us about.
