The Elephant in the Room

Something very wrong is happening here. Something too big to hide. Exogen-Alpha, I've heard them call it; I don't care what it's called, I care about why it's here. This facility was recommissioned not long before we arrived, could it be a leftover of what was here previously?

Been eavesdropping, collecting information that I'm not supposed to have. They're struggling to get it in a favourable position, or to put it in more blunt terms: they don't know how to stop it. The robot in the lab, it's called HELIOS apparently; meant to get us out of this mess. I don't exactly trust them given they're refusing to tell us what it's meant to do.

Overheard some folks talking about a "Project ATLAS," some sort of plan to make superhuman soldiers. Much to everyone's surprise humans don't exactly take well to being experimented on, and if you're giving them the strength, they will fight. The researchers here seem to be low-level, lackeys mainly. Pointing to some "Dr. Whitmore."

There was a VIP that visited, my peers were calling them "Helix," seemed to know an awful lot about the VSA. Supposedly a key investor and CEO of a synthetics manufacturer. Apparently they were "growing people in labs." Human cloning. Seems like ALPHA was the first, and the rest came from trying to emulate it. I don't have a number for how many subjects they ended up with, but there was an Atlas mentioned; the successful "model." Can't say I appreciate viewing people as products, but I understand the utility.

Sounds like they're planning to use the influx of surveyors as fodder to slow it down if it attacks. Not an ideal solution, but this isn't an ideal scenario. It's only natural that sacrifices must be made at some point.
