The Colonel mentioned a "Maxwell" working on trapping ALPHA. I don't know who this is, but I hope they aren't dumb enough to block the vents. They have some method of tracking it.

The Colonel would "rather [the rangers] not shoot Surveyors for no reason"

Military Directorate#Planetfall Infantry Corps will be on standby. I imagine they'll be required. There'll also be a squad of Rangers to "ensure the surveyors are not harmed." Blatant lies, but it's not worth the confrontation. I wouldn't want to kill whatever hope the other surveyors may have.

Helios is "ready to neutralize ALPHA for good."

The Portal takes you back to HQ? Then ALPHA came here from HQ, presumably following Whitmore. Not unexpected, but raises the question of how they allowed it to escape. It shouldn't be here.
